....and then there were two

Our next to the last class meets this Friday, May 2nd. The History Club hosts (swanky venue) with Prof Shaun Spano on tap. You may remember Shaun was a part of the opening salvo. For more info see the sidebar, a little r&d on Prof Spano and the subject matter he covers.

Thank-you for Attending the Creek Trail Clean-up

It was a great class project that was well attended by the general public and westvalley greenleafers too. Not only did we make a dent in the amount of stuff along side the creek trail, we had a great time doing it.
Yearly event? It could be a worthy addition to the April line up for the town.
Thank-you one and all for pitching in. Hats off to our coffee connection- Peet's
of Saratoga and the Los Gatos deserve a big hug.

Ethics

The Ethical Leadership for Public Trust a study in the best practices for public officials presented by Thomas Shanks PhD.

The leadership class enjoyed a real life example of ethics and values.
The starting point was an exercise choosing three core values from a long list.
One by one each class member stood to share his or her #1 core value. The great thing about an exercise like this: a glimpse of the real person and minds-eye of the class member. Being good sports the class members shared the chosen #1 core value while the rest of the class applauded the choice. A nice topic of discussion with the added dynamic of a class skit representing the ethical and unethical handling of public election materials.
Questions of how much information is too much? What do these issues of unethical tactics used in elections do to our communities? See the post under film short for a taste of the session.
