Steve Conway not only enjoys counting the Town Monies he also enjoys printing some of his own- Fun Monies with the Town Seal. Steve used the new currency to prove a point
of where the monies go after we write those property tax checks to the Town Government. Steve used his"Bag O Monies"to dole out the piles of tax revenues to those with outstretched hands. Schools, Local Municipalities and even The Govenator aka Michael Melton took the Lion share of these Fun Monies to drive home the importance of Local Tax dollars coming home to us in the form of town services.
Nice Job Steve! Thanks for making Tax101 so much fun.
Danielle Surdin gave us a glimpse of the decision making process as the Economic Vitality Manager.
If and when the United Nations needs a new leader- Danielle has my vote. The questions and hoops to be jumped thru to get new businesses to the town was impressively described by Ms. Surdin. The class broke into two groups to tackle case studies in Government Decision Making. While one side of the class analysed the pros and cons of Special Event Permits granted for music in old town, the other half of the class discussed a win-win decision for Pete The Peacock and his family flock. Steve Leonardis kept a straight face as he shared the items of compromise for both neighbor and fowl. Bud Lortz added the happy ending for the Peacock Story, a family adopted Pete.
Special Thanks to Gary Honts and The Community Hospital for hosting our group.
Blends catered an amazing lunch and as always Ronee kept the day on course. Thank You to all for a great day.
